Getting Started

Starter Dungeon

Starter Dungeon

After creating your character you'll find yourself inside Ineo Temple.

Let's start by getting acquainted with the game's controls. Most find it easiest to play with the keyboard and mouse. But for those who prefer, keyboard-only is also supported.

You can check the full controls in the in-game menu if you want to skip ahead. Otherwise, keep reading.

First Steps

Movement

  • Click to move, open doors, loot containers, or attack enemies.
  • The game is turn based. Most actions use up your turn and advance time (more on that later).
  • You can path across tiles, but you'll automatically stop if an enemy enters view (toggle this in settings).

Looting

Click containers to check them for loot. Items are especially important early on.

Keyboard Tip: Use the G key to loot nearby containers without clicking. Use the down arrow key to activate keyboard item navigation. Or enable "List Navigation via Keyboard" in the settings to skip arrow key presses entirely.

Skills & Abilities

  • Based on your selected character background, you'll likely have some starting skills.
  • Open the Skills menu and pick your first abilities. These will shape your playstyle early on.

Combat Tips

  • You don't need to fight everything. Sleeping enemies can be ignored.
  • Click fountains to heal. Many objects in the world work like this: just click them.

Once you exit the temple, the overworld unlocks. Towns, dungeons, and danger awaits.
