The Inside is the Outside

By Noalz Kaje, Wizard and Scholar of the Mystic Arts, Year 980

In the old days, the mystic arts were primarily sought after by wizards who understood the necessary relationship between mysticism and magical attunement. In recent years, however, the study of mysticism has been taken up by scholars of all walks of life, in an attempt to understand the nature of reality itself.

When King Vortigern insisted anyone who would join The Protectorate must first complete mystic training, many thought it a way to weed out the riff-raff. But as more and more people of all social classes began to receive the same training, it became clear that the king's motivations were not as pure as they seemed.

Now, in these dark times, the study of mysticism has taken on a new urgency. With the world threatened by forces beyond our understanding, it has never been more important to learn about the true nature of reality.

To anyone who would seek this path, they must begin with an understanding of the principle of the inside being the outside. What this means is that the true nature of reality is not something that can be seen with the physical eye. It is something that can only be known through the mystic arts.

The "inside" of reality is the true nature of things, while the "outside" is the physical world that we see with our eyes. The inside is the true reality, while the outside is just an illusion. The inside is the world of the spirit, while the outside is the world of the flesh. To say this is one thing. To see and understand it is another.
