Temple in the Fields: A Farmer's Tale

Jehan the Farmer, Year 1131

Aye, 'twas a bright day when I saw it. I was mendin' me worn-out shoes, stoppin' by a stream near my farm, when I saw strange folk in colorful robes buildin' a grand temple far from the city. They were like nothin' I ever seen before — these contraptions of clay and metal doin' their every bidding, followin' orders as if they were alive. It was a sight to behold, and I couldn't help but stare in awe.

I heard they was callin' themselves "the builders," but I don't know what they're buildin' or why. They're out there in the fields, away from everyone else, and they're doin' it quick. Faster than any normal folk could. But it's not just that they're fast — it's the way they're workin'. It's like these machines are doin' their every command, and they're followin' orders as if they were alive. It's not natural, I tell ya. It's not like anythin' I've ever seen.

I didn't dare approach, for I've heard of these folks and their power. They say they can do things with their machines that no one else can. They say they can make them do anything they want. I pray to the gods that they don't bring any harm upon our land. I don't know what they're doin', but I hope it's for the good of our people. If not, who knows what could happen.
