Elara Swiftquill: A Rebuttal
By Professor Pernum, Council of Wizards, Year 1147
Esteemed reader, I, Professor Pernum, am a modest council member who, along with numerous colleagues, has grown increasingly troubled by the unfounded and extravagant assertions of one Elara Swiftquill. Consequently, I have taken it upon myself to compose this rejoinder, in the interest of preserving the integrity and historical accuracy of our council.
Now, I have no intention of discrediting Swiftquill's storytelling skills—she is undeniably a talented wordsmith. However, the implications of her so-called "truths" are nothing short of sensational. The insinuation that the Unifier—also referred to as Aldros the Wise—possessed knowledge surpassing our own is, candidly, ludicrous.
Elara Swiftquill's fanciful tales abound with inaccuracies, hyperboles, and blatant distortions. While her books make for amusing fiction, they are ill-suited for inclusion in our kingdom's historical records.
Allow me to clarify: the Council of Wizards is a respected institution, and its members are the legitimate guardians of magical knowledge in our realm. To propose that we have somehow neglected or even concealed vital information is not merely reckless but also profoundly disrespectful.
Moreover, I find Swiftquill's fixation on the so-called Realm Walkers to be intolerable. The very concept of these entities is grounded in little more than myths and legends, and their purported influence on our world is nothing but the fruit of Swiftquill's overactive imagination. To propose that these alleged Realm Walkers had any association with Aldros the Wise is sheer fantasy, serving only to further erode the credibility of her arguments.
I beseech you, dear reader, to approach Swiftquill's works with prudence and skepticism. As scholars and citizens of the Kingdom of Aldrova, we are duty-bound to pursue truth—not unfounded fantasies and speculative conjecture.
In light of these concerns, I am collaborating with fellow council members to address this situation. I must mention that we are contemplating the possibility of expelling Elara Swiftquill from the council, should her actions continue to undermine our authority and the credibility of our institution.
I hope this rebuttal has offered some much-needed balance and insight on the matter. Let us remain steadfast in our dedication to truth and reason, even when confronted with sensationalism and controversy.
