Mermo's Letter

Hello Adventurer,

You may find it shocking to learn that I am a gremlin. However, I felt compelled to reach out to you when I learned you destroyed a Decay Root inhabiting one of my kin.

These roots are no ordinary growth; they are the physical manifestation of a corrupting magic that is poisoning Gremlins far and wide. It taints us, altering our behavior and causing unprecedented aggression.

You, unwittingly perhaps, have already taken a significant step towards assisting us by destroying that Decay Root. It is in light of this that I reach out, in hope of enlisting your aid to combat this spreading plague.

Should you decide to aid us, make your way to my laboratory located within Babul Fortress. On the 2nd floor, look for an entrance, a porthole opening with a ladder leading downwards.

It is crucial you do not ignore this message. The magic in these roots is the cause of increasing levels of Gremlin aggression against humans. Inaction will lead only to war.
