Dear Adventurer,

If this letter finds you, then it means you have succeeded. The joy of this victory, however, is bittersweet. The same magic, from the treacherous Decay Orbs, granted me the capacity for thought, for understanding, and, above all, the warmth of our friendship.

From the beginning, I knew this would be my fate. The Mermo you knew, the thinking, understanding companion is no more. The magic is gone, and with it, my borrowed intellect.

But know this, brave adventurer. I made this choice, fully aware of its cost. I accept my fate with open arms and I am at peace. My only regret is that I won't be there to share in the joy of your victory.

So, go forth. May your path be lit with the radiance of your achievements and the goodwill you have earned. My story may have ended, but yours, oh yours, is just beginning.
